Preparing endpoints before a latency assessment

The quality of a latency assessment depends on the endpoints you open for sampling. A short preparation checklist for application owners.

We cannot measure paths we cannot reach. Before kickoff, list the production-like endpoints you are willing to sample and the hours when synthetic traffic is acceptable.

Include at least one path that mirrors a real user journey from a Korean branch or office network, not only from a well-connected data centre. Branch conditions often dominate what people feel.

Document authentication constraints early. Read-only health endpoints and agreed synthetic tokens save days of waiting once measurement windows start.

Share any existing traceroute or synthetic check history, even if incomplete. Partial history still narrows where we spend sampling time.

If you are unsure which endpoints matter, a Path Mapping Workshop can settle the list before a full Latency & Uptime Assessment begins.
