Choosing measurement windows across Korea Standard Time

Traffic shape in KST business hours differs from late-night quiet periods. Why assessment windows should cover both, and how many samples are enough.

A latency profile taken only at 02:00 KST will flatter most business applications. Peak branch activity, batch jobs, and partner API quotas often collide between mid-morning and early afternoon.

We usually recommend at least one busy-hour window and one quiet window for each in-scope journey. Comparing the two reveals whether delay is load-dependent or structural.

Sample density matters less than consistency. Regular intervals across the window beat irregular bursts that cluster around the same minute.

Coordinate with change freezes and known maintenance. Measuring through a planned failover can be useful, but only if everyone knows that is what the window contains.
